Author Biography
Graham Dickson
is a former teacher and administrator in the BC K-12 system. He has also worked in the Ministry of Education, as Director of Policy; Director of Evaluation; Director of the Skills Now
initiative. In the latter role he was the Ministry's representative to the Faculties of Education in the province. He served two years on the College of Teachers prior to moving to Royal Roads University in 1996, where he assisted
in the development of the MA in Leadership, referenced in this article. Currently Dr. Dickson is Director of the School of Leadership Studies at Royal Roads University. He is also active in efforts in the BC Health
Leadership Capacity Building Initiative, an activity analogous to that of the BC Education Leadership Council. Contact

Doug Hamilton
is Chair of Faculty Development at Royal Roads University . Prior to this role, he served as Associate Dean as well as Director of the MA Program in Leadership and Training and the MA Program in Distributed Learning. His scholarly interests include research into learning innovations that bridge the gap between the academic study and the workplace. He is particularly interested in the role that technology can play to enhance and support learning. Before coming west, Doug was the Director of Research and Evaluation for a large school system in Ontario. Contact
